Hello there.

My name is Dennis L. Duncan, Jr. Welcome to my portfolio site, which showcases many of the design projects I’ve completed over the years for clients and for myself.

I got my start in graphic design back in the 90s, illustrating some of my favorite video game and cartoon characters in Microsoft Paint. After completing my high school vocational studies in Advertising Design and Graphic Design, I would go on to obtain an Associates in Visual Communications from Sinclair Community College, and a Bachelor’s in Interactive Media Design from Franklin University. I’ve done freelance graphic design work for over two decades, and have also been given plenty of opportunities to utilize my talents throughout my career.

In 2025, I decided to take the name of my website - Design by Den - and register it as a business in Missouri. Making it official serves two purposes: 1) Creating another revenue stream for me and my family, and 2) Combating generative artificial intelligence (A.I.) which steals from real artists to regurgitate its own designs. What makes matters worse is how A.I. “artists” are profiting off of this theft with a simple prompt. It’s putting truly talented creatives out of work, and my complaining about it on social media just won’t cut it anymore. I have to join the fight.

My tagline, “Creativity Unprompted”, means that anything you get from me is designed by me - sometimes starting with good old pencil and paper.
