Hello there.

My name is Dennis L. Duncan, Jr. Welcome to my portfolio site, which showcases many of the design projects I’ve completed over the years for myself, for class, and for clients.

I got my start in graphic design back in the 90s, illustrating some of my favorite video game and cartoon characters in Microsoft Paint. After completing my high school vocational studies in Advertising Design and Graphic Design, I went on to develop my skills in college with a strong emphasis on the Adobe Creative Suites as well as video editing. I hold an Associates in Visual Communications from Sinclair Community College, and a Bachelor’s in Interactive Media Design from Franklin University. While I have never had a career in graphic design, I’ve done freelance design work for over two decades and have been given plenty of opportunities to utilize my talents on the job throughout my career.

After several years of maintaining this website, I’ve decided to make Design by Den official. While the main purpose of this move is to turn my passion into profit, this is also a way for me to combat the ever-growing threat of generative artificial intelligence (A.I.) that steals from real artists to regurgitate its own designs - often with uncanny results. What makes matters worse is how A.I. “artists” are profiting off of this theft with a simple prompt. It’s putting truly talented creatives out of work, and my complaining about it on social media just won’t cut it anymore. I have to get to work.

My tagline, “Creativity, unprompted”, means that anything you get from me is designed by me - sometimes starting with good old pen and paper.
